Level 2 Science Camp
Ages 4th-6th
July 6th - 10th, 2009
9am - 12pm
$85 per child

Get outside! Enjoy hands-on, summertime science at the Planetarium! Build and fly a kite, a balsa glider and a model rocket. Investigate Earth while building a model volcano, experiment with density, and make a worm motel while learning about insects, bugs and spiders along with many other fun activities. Please be sure to dress for mess and bring sunscreen! Snacks provided!


Secret Formulas

Measure, mix and concoct! Formulate and test your best bubble juice recipe, mix up some Oobleck, use chemicals to reveal a secret message!


Marker Robots

Use simple materials to build including a battery and motor to build a “marker robot” that really draws. Can you make your robot draw circles? How about dotted lines? Find out with this fun hands-on activity.

The center of our universe, life on earth wouldn’t exist without the sun! Use a special filter to view the sun, make sun detecting jewelry, and race in a sun-wise relay while learning to protect your skin from damaging UV rays.

Things Your Mother Wouldn’t Let You Do At Home

This camp is bursting with hands-on science fun for little ones! Explore the properties of water, play in the garden while investigating plants and bugs, make your own tools for bubble blowing, build and fly kites along with many other exciting activities. Paper Planes, Helicopters, and Hot Air Balloons

Bubble Festival

Each bubble station offers a fun way to play with bubbles! Make your own bubble juice, use your hands to make bubbles, try a bubble frame that makes huge bubbles, paint with bubbles to make a card to send to a friend. Make and take your own bubble blowing tools.
